the houses in Assam do not have thick walls because it would insulate the house and trap the air in between the walls which will make the house cold, which is not required because the climate in Assam is cool due to rainfall outside. Also houses don't have flat roofs and have sloping roofs because when rainfall falls on it it will move down into the ground and not accumulate above the roof. As the rainfall is severe it may accumulate on the roof and start seeping through it or destroy it.
