Because humans have different types (4) of teeths which are incisors, canines, premolar and molar.

Human Beings are heterodont. It is because they possess four various types of teeth. Human beings which are adults has total 32 permanent teeth which are heterodont, i.e., the teeth are of four different types. These are :

i) Incisors.

ii) Canines.

iii) Pre-Molars.

iv) Molars.

These are the permanent teeth. They help in tearing and chewing food substances. Enamel constitutes the teeth which makes the surface of teeth strong for chewing.
