Ability to maintain constant temperature (37 degree centigrade) of our body is known as Homeostasis. Hypothalamus just situated below the thalamus in our brain is responsible for this. When the temperature of the surroundings becomes very low Hypothalamus will command our body to shiver,Shivering can produce body heat.
