The reasons why humans have chosen to live near water sources through the ages are as follows.

1. The water source provides as a medium for transportation of goods as well as for the locomotion of people

2. In the early ages the most common profession was agriculture and water was really important for it so people decided to live near land so that they can get fertile land for agriculture purposes.

3. Water is a source of life and since there was not an efficient transportation system at that time people decided to live near water for the daily works.
