Septum helps to separate right chamber of the heart to the left one. as the right one contains pure blood while the left chamber contains impure blood so, the septum helps to separate them both and avoid to be mixed up.

because blood passes through the heart twice per circuit.

The right pump send deoxygenated blood to the lungs where it becomes oxygenated and return back to the heart.

The left pump send the newly oxygenated blood around the body. by the time this blood returns to heart, it has return to a deoxygenated state.
