According me, no stream is bad and no stream is good. If the person likes the field they have chosen for their life ,they do wonders.
Now talking about India. Yes, truth to be told India is not that inclined towards Humanity stream as a career. I think that's particularly because other streams
(commerce and science) offer faster income and big status in society.
Bottom line(for India):
Don't fall to the prey of char log kya khanege , do what you love and achieve what you always dreamt of.
