Pairing takes place only after all the equal energy orbitals are filled with one electron. Hence it is called hunds rule of max. multiplicity.

Hunds's rule of maximum multiplicity state that, pairing of elections in an orbital belongings to the same subshell does not takes place until each orbital belonging to that subshell has got one electron each.
I. e. at first all the orbital of a subshell will get one electron after then only pairing of electron will be done.
