Why hydra has both types of digestion

Hydra has two types of digestion. Intracellular digestion takes place inside the cell of hydra.
It secretes enzymes
The food gets trapped in their tentacles. It is being stung and transferred into its mouth where extracellular digestion takes place..
Intracellular digestion is followed by extracellular digestion

Enzymes secreted by the hydra , it will down food from absorption. Hydra also use extracellular digestion and secrete molecules to break down the substrate they will grow. And inter cellular digestion take place inside the cell. That's why hydra has two types of digestion.
