If any gas is exposed to lithmus paper , it does not change it colour i.eshows neutral.
Litmus paper only works when there is water content in object or chemical used for test.

Explanation:

A litmus paper is a paper which helps in the detection of pH of a liquid or solution.

It is important that the substance whose pH has to be detected must be in the form of a solution or liquid.

If litmus paper turns from blue to red then it means solution is acidic otherwise the solution is basic if no change occurs.

Thus, litmus paper do not work for gases. Hence, hydrogen gas is neutral to litmus paper.
