Because nothing bad has ever come from cramming a bunch of hydrogen in a small space and hoping it doesn’t set fire and violently explode.Simply put, hydrogen is reactive due to the fact it has one electron in its outer shell — heck, it has one electron, period. This means it has a tendency to blow up when exposed to heat.If it were used in balloons, many parties would probably end with a trip to the hospital.
