hydrogen gas is not evolved when react with nitric acid because nitric acid is agaoo oxidising agent, it oxidises the evolved hydrogen into water

Hydrogen gas not evolved when react with nitric acid because nitric acid is a strong oxidising agent . It oxideses the H2 produced to water and itself gets reduced to any of the nitrogen oxides ( NO , N2O , NO2 ) .
