Why hydrogen has a valency1

because it has only 1 electron

hydrogen having valency 1 bcz its atomic no is 1 and its placed in first group of periodic table ..so all elements which r placed in first period having 1 valency so hydrogen is also having 1 valency and its having only 1 electron in its outermost shell..clear??
