Why hydrogen has high ionization energy than alkali metals due to its small size?

BECAUSE THE HYDROGEN GAS IS IN GASIOUS STATE AND THE ALKALI METALS IS IS A METAL .SO WHEN H20 IS IN SMALL IN SIZE IT HAS HIGH IONIZATION ENERGY THAN ALKALI METALS.
