why hydrogen ion is negative here in the reaction. usually we see that hydrogen has positive ion H+ but when metal react with hydrogen why it it is in the form of negative ion H- here..

yes it is true that only few highly reactive metals can react with hydrogen because those metal which are less reactive than hydrogen then can't help them in displacing hydrogen from any acid or its compound..
