- Explanation: Hydrogen needs 7 more electrons to complete the octet configuration, Due to which hydrogen takes 7 electrons to get stable, because of this hydrogen ion has a "+" Symbol beside it!
For example Sodium has valency is 2,8,1 and for it to get octet configuration it needs to give away one electron, Due to which it has a "-" Symbol beside it!
