Actually Hydrogen is a rough( here it means it doesn't fit anywhere) element, it is neither a metal nor a non metal.

2.)it can easily gain electron in oder to get stability.
3.) it is also found in gaseous state.
4.) the physical and chemical properties of hydrogen is generally equal to the properties of non metal.
