why hydrogen is at 1 place in periodic table?

 Hydrogen has atomic no. 1 so is is placed in the first position(modern periodic table is based on atomic no. system) Hydrogen has one electron in 1s orbital .

Hydrogen is placed on the top of the periodic table as it had ns1 electron configuration like alkali metals.
