Why hydrogen is called a roughe element in periodic table

Because the position of hydrogen is not fixed till now. Scientists ate confused whether it should be placed in 1 group or 17 group. Because it os a non metal but it loses electron

Hydrogen does not have a fixed position in the periodic table. It has some special characters which behaves different from other elements. As hydrogen has only one electron it can give as well as take electrons. These are the reasons why hydrogen is called as the rouge element.
