Why hydrogen peroxide solution is stored in plastic containers?

Glass bottles sometimes have small amounts of alkali metal ions dissolved in it. Hydrogen peroxide is stored in dark coloured , completely filled ,wax lined bottle because small energy addition to this compound can accelerate or initiate this compounds degradation to water and molecular oxygen .
