hydrogen shows dual nature in the periodic table because it is not a stable element....therefore according to my opinion the hydrogen atom must be always found in stable state....

Hydrogen shows property of group 1 element because it had 1 valence electron and that of group 17 because it needs one 1 electron to complete it's doublet. It also shows property of other elements because of its small size and only one electron. And I think it's position in periodic table is justifiable as it is not the part of any group.
