Because its hows which metals can displace hydrogen from water

All the metals above hydrogen reacts with water whereas all metals below dont

Hydrogen is icluded in the reactivity series of metal because it's property of electropositivity is similar to that of metal thats why we can relate it with metal... For example, zinc is above so it can't be displaced because it is more reactive...
