why ice float on water​

Ice floats on water because density of ice is less than water.As it cools further and freezes into ice,it actually becomes less dense than water.

Here is your answer user. when water is converted into ice its volume expand

about 10% in comparison to the volume of water does ice occupies more space as a result it density decrease and its floats on water.
