Heya here's ur answer..
Though we read that liquids has lower density as compared to solids bt ice is solid and floats.
Its because when water changes into ice it expands..so, density of ice is lower than that of water.

Since ice has more volume than water from which it is formed, the density of ice is less than that of water. Now, if the density of object (here, ice) is less than density of liquid (here,. water), then obviously the object (ice) will float on the liquid (water).
