it is usually advised to switch of the circuit while not taking the reading during the verification of Ohm's law because when the current is passed through the resistor , then due to the heating effect , the temperature of the setup rises and hence, Ohm's law cannot be verified properly as Ohm's law states a condition of constant temperature
