why in a democratic countries the independent judiciary play a important role

A democratic government that is 'of the people, for the people and by the people' needs a judiciary that is strong and independent so that the rights of the people do not get trampled upon by those in power. Therefore, the judiciary becomes the most important pillar of democracy.
