In distance-time graph
The distance can be taken as function
of time.
.So time is variable here.
Moreover ,the speed is the slope of curve in distance-time graph,
So speed=slope=∆y/∆x.
That must be equal to ∆d/∆t =change in position/change in time.
Thus, time is taken on x-axis and distance on y-axis.
