DDT is a non biodegradable chemical . It is not metabolized by the body and therefore gets accumulated .
Its concentration keeps on increasing at successive trophic levels . Organisms at higher trophic level consume DDT whenever they eat organisms present at lower trophic level .
Since , the biomass at each level decreases therefore the concentration of DDT increases .
So , maximum DDT is found in fish-eating birds .
