why in any atom there are equal no of electron and protons

It is because for making a atom stable and make its own identity.

abhinav18802: ok. with ex. We know that hydrogen has 1 electron. If it for 2 electon then it will change it's characteristics to helium noble gas. but proton can't be changed ever in a atom

In an atom there are equal number of protons and electrons because an atom is stable, there is no charge on an atom. So for the effective charge on the atom to be zero the number of protons and electrons must be equal
