Why in cathode ray tube experiment,electrons travel in a straight line when their is no electricity?

Electron does not travel in absence of electricity. A high voltage battery is connected to the circuit to provide electricity in the circuit so the electrons start traveling from positive to negative direction due to attraction because unlike charges attract each other.
