Why in diploid gametes cells when under go meiosis then why only one set of chromosomes get incorporated into each gametes?

Because it is a necessary step to maintain a particular no. of chromosome in next progeny and this occur by cell division process called as meiosus

Haploid cells contain one set of chromosomes. Cells containing two sets of chromosomes are called diploid. ... Gametes fuse with another haploid gamete to produce a diploid cell. The nuclear division that forms haploid cells, which is called meiosis, is related to mitosis.
