Why in the mid 840s, hundreds of thousand die of starvation?

IN mid 1840s thousands of died from starvation because there were many revelutions, changing thr government, peasants had to pay high tax rates and economy was poor, there were many civil wars and no money all this caused a big starvation that people (ordinary peasants) had to suffer from starvation.
