You can see why India have strategic importance

India is a blessed country. It is supposed to be a natural superpower. Why?? Here are the reasons for why the US needs India.

LOCATION

India is located in South Asia. Below it is the Indian Ocean, having one of the most important trade routes in the world due to Chinese trade dominance.India’s Andaman and Nicobar islands also are crucial for trade and are strategically positioned near the most busiest trade routes. India is also sandwiched between what are 2 very important and volatile political zones:

The Middle East and The South China Sea.

With India, you can have a network for the Middle east and at the same time, India plays a major role in the South China sea as it has access through the Andaman and Nicobar islands and a non adversary Indonesia as the neighbour.

India also acts as the only solid economic power to counter Chinese expansion due to OBOR(One Belt One Road) and String of Pearls as it is the only nation capable to challenge the same.

MILITARY POWER

India also maintains a solid military getting modernized year by year. The US too has considered India’s strategic importance as the major ally alongside Japan to counter Chinese aggression in South China Sea.

It also has a close proximity with Pakistan and Afghanistan, characterized with extremist terrorism.

There are also various other factors like Growing Youth, Increase in Military spending, A strong cenral govt., etc

Hope it will help you
