India is Democratic country. Every citizen has the opportunity to be the PM of country. Religion or Cast should not stop him.
Now coming to the question of a Muslim same applies to him. If we go by the stats till now we have 14 Prime Ministers to our country. Out of them 6 are from INC, 3 from BJP(Counting Sri.Morarji Desai ji). Rest from collation Government.
First and foremost you should become a charismatic leader. You can be part of either of the two big national parties grow step by step till you reach the top level. I would suggest you to read about Sri. P.V.Narsimaha Rao, how he made it to the top level breaking the very strong Gandhi clan. You can also plan to become a regional leader from a big state like UP and become a game changer.
I know the it's not an easy task cause out of 1.30 billion people only one can be the PM. So Instead of thinking about religion one should start thinking about the country as a whole.
