why India is a backward country in terms of Development?

Heya....

We can't say that India is totally a backward country but yes...In comparison to other developing countries it is too backward in terms of....

* Poverty....

In India approx 22% of Population is below poverty line that is the sign of backward economy....

* Low per capita income....

The average income of people is very low according to GDP that show the unequal distribution of income ...

* Lack of infrastructure...

The roads, bridges, and industrial set ups are too old or unmodernized in terms of development they must need to be full of technology...

* Hospital standard....

In India the hospital of high standard are very few in number but some r but of high cost so people faces lack hospital facilities...

* Low literacy rate....

Still in India children are not getting proper education specially girls so lack of fine literacy rate tends to less development..

Some data regarding India's economy says that it has shown growth in some strata but some shows that still we are lacking behinf in many fieds like :

1. In per capita income we are still behind Srilanka

2. In life expectancy we are still behind Srilanka.

3. In terms of Literacy rate we are far behind Myanmar.

4. In terms of Gross enrolment ratio we are still lying behind Srilanka.
