why , India is a secular country?

Good Morning :)

Secularism as held by the supreme court in S.R.Bommai v.state of karnataka,is basic structure of the indian constitution.it is an overarching principle.India is secular because it does not have any religion of its own. Now the question may arise like whether it means any negative conception about the different religions .And the answer is that the secularism being negative conception is a thing of past.It is rather a positive conception and approach towards different religion that is mutual respect for each other because the ultimate aim of our constitution is fraternity assuring the dignity of the individual and unity and integrity of the nation.And this fraternity comes from this positive approach of secularism.
