Although tropic of cancer divides India into 2equal halves ,India is essentially known as a tropical country. The reasons are those of physical geography and cultural factors. The Indian Peninsula is bounded on three sides by water and in the north, India is separated from rest of Asia by the great Indian barrier_the great Himalaya, forming an insulated compartment. Another reason is that climate is dominated by tropical monsoons
