The areas which are under cotton cultivation unfortunately in very hot geographic locations climate wise,which is actually a basic need also.But the plant also needs good irrigation ,especially when the first half of the plant life,but can not withstand heavy rain in the last stage near harvest!
In India, especially during the last few years cotton cultivation has been affected by untimely rains and untimely summer.The plants dried up before its full growth due to heat and got decayed along with pods during the harvest season
Small un economic holdings of land and lack of Mechanisation and lack of professionally organised cultivation by agriculturists has brought the level down
