Reason for india's coastal boundary is shorter than land boundary:
- India has a land border of around 15,200 km, with a cumulative length of 7,516.6 km for the inland coastline comprising Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep.
- India predominantly has a larger and longer boundary that is shares with land parts than compared to the border that comprises of the coastline because India’s northern section is land-bound and shares it’s boundaries with a number of territorial neighbours, India has a large coastal border as well, but compared to the land boundary it is smaller.
