Why India's neighbouring countries together called Indian subcontinent

Because they were earlier collectively known as Bharatvarsh.

It is the story of long time ago when India was not divided . Then all the countries that are today known as Indian subcontinent were Known as Bharatvarsh . But after the division of Indian thes all became new countries . So they are known as Indian subcontinent.
