Secularism in India means equal treatment of all religions by the state. With the 42nd Amendment of the Constitution of India enacted in 1976, the Preamble to the Constitution asserted that India is a secular nation. However, neither India's constitution nor its laws define the relationship between religion and state.

Hii There!!

Indian Secularism is unique one in this world, it is due to the following reasons.

1) Our constitution grants equal status and opportunities to all the religions.

2) Our constitution does not believe in any form of discrimination based on religion.

3) According to our constitution, all religions are equal and it grants us freedom to practice and propogate any religion and not to follow any.

4) Different countries of the world have different religions like in:-

◆ Pakistan-: Islam religion
◆Srilanka-: Buddhism
◆England-: Christianity

5)But, In our country there is no official religion.
Every citizen of India have freedom to choose any religion.
