Nobody can say that her or his culture is the best in the world. For an Indian his culture is the best; for a Chinese his culture is the best. For an Arab his culture is the best and western culture is the worst. Like wise we will think about oor anation, our race, our language, our religion, and our political party. It is all simple biases. If an Indian has come close with the deep spiritual life in interior Japan or China, he would say this: “ Indian culture is the best, but Japanese culture is also good.”

Some may point out to you. Indian spirituality is great and Indian Gurus are masters. That is why millions of westerners turned to Indian ashrams.Then what about those Indian and Asian youths who are trying to migrate to west or her to g westernized all over. What is about Indian intellectuals who always look upon western democracy, human rights, western life , western freedom etc.

Myself, I was always enticed by literature from Russia England, US etc. I was attracted very much to western opera, ballot, theatre, classical music etc. Even though I am very much influenced by teachings of Indian spiritual leaders, at the same time I long for western culture. The western architecture, palaces, museums, monuments sculptors wall paintings take me away. So where do I really stand?

When I come close to Arabs, there also I found lot of the precious things.How can you put aside the musical instruments used in old Iran, Arabia, Armenia etc. How can you ignore the deep love and family ties seen among Arabs and Muslims?

It all means that I can not be very partial with my Indian culture. America too have a big culture. The South American countries boast if another big culture. And Africa is our origin and original culture.

With all these biases, what I find most attractive in Indian cukture:

1.Basic human values, great family ties.

2. Non violence. Peaceful mind, harmony with nature. Treating tree, animal , birds as God.

3. The mindfulness for the wholesome prosperity of all world.

4. Many yoga and meditation practices which can elevate a person to the level of Budha.
