After the independence the government had put trade barriers in order to prevent the competitions from the traders and merchants of other countries.
But, In 1992 when the trade barrier was taken out there was a very tough and heavy competition that was faced by the farmers of our country because the farmers of India were using the traditional methods of agriculture whereas the farmers of other countries were using High Yielding Variety (HYV) Seeds and they also used very modern machines such as harvesters, tractors, thresher, etc....
So we can say that with the Globalisation the Indian farmers had to face very tough competitions.
