why indium and thalium does not reacts with alkali​

The given elements of Indium and Thallium belong to group IIIA, which has melting points higher than the boiling point of water, have to be extracted by reduction of respective oxides in the condition of high temperature only using carbon or hydrogen and alternate method of aqueous solution electrolysis using respective salts. Hence by nature state it is highly difficult for group IIIA elements to react with alkali solution.

react with air even at high temperatures . the same in the case with water. howeverthey react with water in the presence of oxygen. thalium tarnishes in air due to formation of thallium oxide.
