industrial waste contains harmful chemicals in it if it is realeased to water where aquatic organisms like fish etc live it may kill the organisms living in it water from river and all taken for conduming by people living around it (eg :ganga has many industries near it and people use it 4 consuming ) may lead to diseases. so industrial waste should be neutrilized and made harmless before releasing to water bodies
