Why industries are known as backbone of country?

1. Manufacturing sector provides support to agricultural sector which forms the backbone of the economy of the country. e.g.: It provides fertilizers, pesticides etc.

2. It reduces dependance of people on agricultural sector. e.g.: It provides job opportunities.

3. It increases trade and commerce bringing in much foreign exchange. e.g.: Export of manufatured goods.
