Insectivorous plants are partial parasitic plants because they have green Leaves which can synthesize food....Insectivorous plants consume insects to fulfill their need of nitrogen as they grow in soil that is not so rich...Thus they used the nutrition obtained from insects to supplement the food insects to the food prepared by photosynthesis....
In the insectivorous plant like pitcher plant , a leaf becomes modified to form a pitcher like structure with a lid in which it will trap the instect.....
Thus , They are called partial parasites....
