Intensive farming is expensive as the farmer tries to get maximum field from his small land using hybrid seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.

Intensive farming is carried out with the help of less tools and more labour. In other words, it is labour-intensive. As a result, the amount of money spent on paying the labourers leads to less cost efficiency of intensive farming. In addition, intensive farming is carried out on small piece of land, which is optimally used, hence putting a lot of pressure on a agricultural land. To facilitate this optimum use, farmers have to make use of fertilisers so that the soil can be renewed with the nutrients so as to cultivated again after a short period. (Land is not left fallow for long)
