Crossing the date line causes the date to be changed exactly by one day. Crossing the line from East to West , one loses a day . ... The International Date Line does not exist.

line is not a straight line. Though it follows 180°meridian of longitude for it's distance,it goes in a zigzag way in some places. To avoid land and to leave island groups wholly on the one side of the line,it bends in some places; viz., in Bering Strait between Siberia and Alaska, in mid-southern Pacific between Fiji and Tonga islands up to New Zealand.
