Why ion dipole interactions are not considered as Van der Waal forces?? ​

Ion - dipole interaction comes into plane between and ion and a dipole molecule (like water) .

It is not considered as van der Wall forces because van der Wall force comes into play between uncharged molecule but here we have an ion which always has some charge.
