Why ionic solids conducts electricity in molten state but not in solid state?

in solid states the atoms are tightly packed .so they can't move here and there to produce a random motion.so they can't conduct electricity. but when there are in molten state there have free mobile ion to move and produce random motion so they conduct electricity easily.
for example such as Nacl in solid it won't coduct but in molten state it conduct electricity
